Mark Webster
Director, Institutional Sales & Service, BMO ETFs

Mark is the BMO ETF team’s representative for Western Canada. With over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, Mark has covered many diverse forms of financial risk. He began his career as a professional indemnity broker, becoming a vice president at Minet International Professional Indemnity Ltd. (now part of AON), conducting risk analysis for the Big 8 global accounting firms, as well as some of the top U.S. law firms. He is responsible for overseeing the proliferation of ETFs throughout Canada’s vast western region and providing support to portfolio managers from the Pacific (Duncan B.C.), to the Lakehead (Thunder Bay, Ontario). He has worked as a retail investment advisor with RBC DS; in the mutual fund industry with First Trust Portfolios; and has held several other positions in the pension industry. He brings with him a Master’s degree in Russian History from McGill University and several CSI accreditations.

Rosa van den Beemt
Vice President, Responsible Investment Analyst, BMO GAM

Rosa van den Beemt is a corporate engagement practitioner with over 6 years’ experience in the responsible investment industry and joined the Responsible Investment team in 2020. Prior to joining BMO Global Asset Management Rosa was Senior ESG Manager at NEI Investments, the asset management arm of Canadian wealth firm Aviso Wealth, where she led the proxy voting program as well as various corporate engagement initiatives on ESG topics. Rosa has extensive experience in North American corporate governance, engaging management and board members on ESG. At BMO GAM Rosa focuses on engagement and voting of the Canadian market, including the oil and gas sector, and serves on the Steering Committee for the Investor Alliance for Human Rights aimed at education on, and integration of, the investor responsibility to respect human rights. She holds a BA in Political Science and an MSc in International Development Studies from the University of Amsterdam.

Marina Mets
FTSE Russell

Marina Mets heads up Fixed Income and Multi Asset Product Management in the Americas. Building on her prior role in the Research team leading the Canadian Fixed Income business, Marina works closely with FTSE’s partners and key clients, including major asset owners, fund managers and investment banks to develop and broaden FTSE’s fixed income offering globally. Marina leads a team focused on targeted client engagement to design and provide index solutions, educate the market on FTSE’s index philosophy, and profile use of indexes in investment portfolios and strategies across all asset classes.

Marina has been with the Fixed Income Index business for almost 20 years, starting her career in the capital markets research team at Scotiabank, and continuing on with the Canada fixed income index business through its acquisition by TMX Group in 2006, and the subsequent acquisition by FTSE in 2013.

Marina holds a Bachelor of Commerce, specializing in Finance, Accounting, and Economics, from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, and is a CPA CMA.

Matt Montemurro
Director & Portfolio Manager – Fixed Income, BMO ETFs

Matt is responsible for managing and trading across all segments of the fixed income market, both in Canada and internationally. Matt has over 10 years of industry experience in managing and trading Canadian government, provincial, corporate and real return bonds; government and corporate US bonds, both investment grade and high yield; as well as emerging market debt.

Travis Robinson
S&P Dow Jones Indices

Travis is Senior Director, for the S&P Dow Jones Indices (S&P DJI) Financial Advisor coverage team. He is responsible for educating financial advisors on index-based investing with the aim of increasing the level and quality of due diligence across the industry. His mandate covers all asset classes and strategies available via our rules-based indices. His specific duties involve frequent and direct client contact through educational forums, webinars, and partner-sponsored events, as well as more focused delivery of S&P DJI research and content.

Travis has 20 years of experience in finance, covering portfolio construction and investment solutions with a full spectrum of clients. He has most recently served in senior sales roles in the capital markets with responsibility for the distribution of Market Linked Investments. His previous roles also include experience as a Financial Advisor and as a platforms specialist at a leading wirehouse broker dealer.

Travis holds a bachelor of arts degree from The College of New Jersey and is a Certified Financial Planner®. Travis and his wife Ellen have three young children.

Kevin Prins
BMO Exchange Traded Funds

With more than 19 years of industry experience in banking, securities, mutual funds and financial education, Kevin provides a rare combination of both industry knowledge and educational expertise on Exchange Traded Funds. During his career he has authored several investment industry courses for the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI), including the recent development of an ETF focused course. Kevin frequently interacts with portfolio managers and investors about the benefits of ETFs and how they can be used to add value to any investment portfolio. He is a regular contributor to investment industry publications, has also been a guest speaker and panelist at industry events, and has appeared several times on BNN. Kevin has an MBA from Dalhousie University and holds a number of industry designations including FCSI, CIM and CFP.

Chris McHaney
Director & Portfolio Manager, Global Structured Investments

Chris has more than 20 years of experience in the investment industry and currently serves as portfolio manager for equity-based and derivative-based mandates. This includes Canadian, US, international and emerging market equities, North American and European derivatives.

He co-manages various cross-asset portfolios, which include Canadian and US fixed income and global equities. In addition, Chris trades foreign exchange contracts and equity options for mandates across the firm.

In his previous role, he was responsible for mutual fund manager monitoring and selection, as well as overseeing the currency hedging program across the mutual fund platform. Chris holds an Honours Business Administration degree from York University’s Schulich School of Business and is a CFA charterholder.

Rene Dinter
Director, ETF Distribution, BMO ETFs

Rene has extensive industry knowledge and can help with investment analysis, portfolio construction, trading of equities, fixed income, foreign exchange, options, ETFs and mutual funds. He is known for his attention to detail and a consultative approach in providing support and education to advisors and portfolio managers. Business development utilizing ETFs has been his passion for the past 12 years. He holds a Derivative Market Specialist (DMS) designation and has completed an extensive list of investment industry courses. Rene graduated from York University with a degree focused on Economics, Psychology and Business Fundamentals.

Jin Li
Vice President, Global Markets, BMO Capital Markets

Jin covers the ETF sector for BMO Capital Markets. His area of focus includes ETF investment strategies and factor research. Jin provides a top-down ETF-based portfolio construction screen and conducts ETF investor sentiment analysis for the purpose of highlighting investment themes and ETF products relevant to those themes. Jin assumed the analyst role in 2016 after joining BMO as a quantitative and technical Research Associate in 2013. Jin holds a Bachelor of Computer Science, Business Option, from the University of Waterloo.

Chris Heakes
Director, Portfolio Manager, BMO Asset Management

Chris has more than 12 years of experience in the investment industry and currently serves as portfolio manager for equity-based and derivative-based mandates. Chris also trades equity options and foreign exchange for the firm. He holds two degrees including a Master of Finance from the University of Toronto, Rotman School of Management (Dean’s List), and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Waterloo, with studies in History and Mathematics, and is a CFA charterholder.

Mark Raes
BMO Global Asset Management

Mark Raes is MD, Head of Product covering ETFs, mutual funds, and pooled products at BMO Global Asset Management. Mark is responsible for product analysis, new launches, supporting distribution activities and identifying investor opportunities. Mark supports BMO ETFs globally. He previously was an ETF portfolio manager focused on fixed income and derivatives. Mark holds a HBBA from Wilfrid Laurier University, and a MBA from York University. He has also received his CFA designation.

Patrick Ceresna
The Montréal Exchange

Patrick Ceresna is the founder and Chief Derivative Market Strategist at Big Picture Trading. Patrick is a Chartered Market Technician, Derivative Market Specialist and Canadian Investment Manager by designation. In addition to his role at Big Picture Trading, Patrick is an instructor on derivatives for the TMX Montreal Exchange, educating investors and investment professionals across Canada about the many valuable uses of options in their investment portfolios. Patrick is also the co-host of the MacroVoices podcast and Market Huddle YouTube show.

Patrick specializes in analyzing the global macro market conditions and translating them into actionable investment and trading opportunities. With his specialization in technical analysis, he bridges important macro themes with the attempt to understand when those trends are beginning and understanding where they likely to go. With his expertise in options trading, he seeks to create opportunities that leverage returns, while managing/defining risk and or generating consistent enhanced income. Patrick has designed and teaches Big Picture Trading’s Technical, Options and Macro Masters Programs while providing the content for the members in regards to daily live market analytic webinars, alert services and model portfolios.
